TVS Motor Limited is a part of the TVS group which is largest two-wheeler manufacturer in india and one among the top ten in the world. TVS Motor was founded in 1979 among the oldest players in the Indian two-wheeler market. The company has its headquartered in Chennai while the main two-wheeler manufacturing unit is based at Hosur, Tamil Nadu. Its other production plants are located at Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh and in Indonesia too.
It was focused on its attention on manufacturing of mopeds before joining hands with Suzuki and the company was christened TVS-Suzuki. The partnership continued 19 years that products likes Shaolin, Samurai, Shogun and the Fiero being launched. After they split in 2001, TVS launched the Victor range of commuter motorcycles that was indigenously developed and was an instant hit. Another most liked product was the Scooty range of scooters which was highly popular among young female riders. For performance hungry Indian bikers, TVS introduced the Apache range of motorcycles in 160cc and 180cc
