Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) is an indian subsidiary of Honda Motor Company,japan. Honda manufacturing is based in Manesar, Gurgaon and manufacturing in the indian two-wheeler market since 1999. Honda's entry in indian scooter segment had revolutionized the market. It was the Honda Activa that introduced first automatic scooter a new lease of life and it was appreciated up by Indian buyers owing to its ease of use.
Unicorn 150cc motorcycle was most popular among youths of india. After its split to Hero, it has focused its attention more in india’s two-wheeler market. Apart from expanding the Activa family, Introduced the Dream series of commuter motorcycles. Currently Honda sells close to approx. 4.5 million units in Indian and contributes 25 percent of its global sales signifying the importance of our market. Honda is planning to overtake Hero MotoCorp within the next two years & become the country’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer by 2017. It's currently working three manufacturing facilities at Haryana, Rajasthan and Karnataka. The fourth manufacturing unit will be exclusively for scooters & will come up in Gujarat and be operational by end of 2015.
